After six months of dreaming, thinking, planning, painting, colouring, filming, editing and finessing I am so very proud to post the spectacular global film for the Let’s Colour Project: ‘Dulux Walls’. It is the result of 650 people from all over the world who came together in the name of colour. The 60 and 30 second versions of the film are launching tonight in France and then will follow in markets around the world.
Shot by multi-award winning director Adam Berg over four weeks in Brazil, France, London and India. What sets this film apart is that it is not actually a film. Every location is real. The stairs in Lapa-Brazil, the council estate in Aulnay-Paris, Virginia Primary School in Tower Hamlets-London and the boys school, main street and community centre in Jodhpur-India. All these places remain transformed by a palette of 120 wonderful vibrant colours of paint. The people you see painting are not actors, they are real people from the local areas who rolled up their sleeves with us to paint. 260 of them from all over the world. These are the people who fill the pages of this blog, whether by flickr slideshow, interview or in one of our documentaries posted below. The track behind this film -’Go Do’ by Jonsi- could not be better suited and acts as an emotive anthem or call to arms for the world to start colouring.
Grey is out. Gloom is gone. This is the beginning of a colour crusade that is spreading around the world. The more of us who join in, the bigger the splash will be. Come colour the world with us.

I saw the film and was impressed and then trauled through the pages of this blog. What a wonderful element to see the whole process and give us an insight into the lives that you have touched. I feel like I am there on the rooftops of Inida with you Rebecca the pages really tells the story and bring us face to face with real people who are being impacted with colour. It makes me actually believe that the brand wants to do good. Sure they want to sell paint but they also want to do good. If it was just a tv ad I would not believe it so much and It is a spectacular tv ad. Well done to everyone who made this happen. Well done for the whole campaign I also am impressed that Dulux are planning on continuing the painting and that this is not just a stunt for a nice tv ad. I will await eagerly your next adventures.

Amazing video… though what happens when it rains? I can only assume these are water soluble paints that will run off into the rivers and streams, heck who am I to criticise.
Kathleen Cooke Monday May 24th, 2010 at 02:07 PM
Amazing artwork-the painting AND the photography!

Cor é mesmo vida!
Parabéns!
Rebecca Campbell Monday May 24th, 2010 at 03:13 PM
Thanks Dan. Yep the paints were partly water based, but all the paint used was correct for the type of material on which it was applied, therefore no risk of it running off the painted surfaces and causing environmental damage. And we made sure we didn’t paint in the rain
All left over tins were donated to the community. If the communities had declined the offer of the extra paint, AkzoNobel have a formal recycling policy which would have been adopted. Thanks, Rebecca

Fernanda Romano Wednesday May 26th, 2010 at 10:52 AM
Oi querido! Tudo bem?
A gente não tem presença em Portugal ainda e fica complicado fazer um evento onde não estamos presentes comercialmente.
Não recebi teu outro email/comentário, senão já teria respondido.
Muito obrigada pelo carinho.
Um beijo enorme,
Fefa

Fantastic execution. All real, all authentic, all on location with the local people – which makes this far more credible and enduring than a sony colour explosion in somewhat far out industry sites. Congratulations!
Madeleine Thursday May 27th, 2010 at 08:59 AM
Sure laurline, but le Havre is not THAT ugly. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage ! You have to visit it with someone passionate and you’ll like it. Colors, yes, but don’t forget the forms !

Very Inspiring! It’s refreshing to see communities pull together and make a change. Together we can paint our world in a new colour and make a difference!

As you know I have followed the blog from the beginning and absolutely love it. I so want to believe this project and join your colour movement. I will be at the front of this crusade of colour you talk about. Just please don’t stop now that the tv ad has been release. Please keep going and let it be more than empty advertising promises. I have every hope it will be.
