The residents of Winnipeg get a colourful facelift
The Let’s Colour project and volunteers from the local community infused the Niigannaki Day Care Centre with colour, to lift the spirits of the local families who use its services.
The centre was painted in traditional Aboriginal colours, the east wall of the facility was painted yellow, to symbolise such concepts as the gifts of the eagle, childhood and dreams. The west wall has painted red, representing such concepts as gifts from the turtle and bear, fire and autumn. And the north wall was painted white, which represents such concepts as the gifts of the polar bear, winter and wisdom.
